My first "real" amp was a mid-60s Vibrolux, which was an awesome thing. I have a chance to buy a Temolux head and cab for $1,200. I now it won't have reverb, but I have read that the head/cab Blackfaces have less gain than the combo amps with reverb, due to some circuit differences. We're happy to present this beauty, a not-easy-to-find-at-all Blackface-era wonder: a 1966 Vibrolux Reverb. Probably one of the best-sounding low wattage amps in Fender history, with unmistakeable “Custom” Vibrolux Reverb is painstakingly built, one at a time, by a select group of craftsmen at the Fender electron-ics factory in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The “Custom” Vibrolux Reverb was created for the player who requires a medium powered amplifier with very “vin-tage” tube tones.

It sounded wonderful and it did the great Fender tone at bedroom to arena volumes. It was reasonably compact and not that heavy. Fender discontinued the Brownface Vibrolux Amp in early '64, almost immediately replacing it with the Vibrolux Reverb. Sporting 35 watts of power from two 6L6 tubes in a 2x10" configuration, these amps broke up fairly early compared to the bigger 6L6 Fenders of the era thanks to their smaller speakers, output transformers, and power transformers.

The solid pine cabinet measures 24 3/4 inches wide x 18 inches high and the depth is 7 3/4 inches at the top expanding to 9 3/4 inches at the bottom.
